DENNIS RIDGE

For this series, I had to incorporate text in the photo. The concept I chose for this project was to personalize each photograph. I asked each of my friends what quote, saying do they live by. An expression that defines who they are. This series is my finished result.

Mid-way through my Spring 2014 semester, I was introduced to Holga cameras. In the beginning, I was having difficulty using the camera because of its flimsy, "ancient" manual settings. It wasn't until a few days before the deadline that I managed to develop my work. This is the strongest one I made.

This photo was taken with a Holga camera.

I have been photographing local barbershops for almost a year. My concept for this was to show an unspoken camaraderie between the barber and their customer. Barbershops also showed a sense of the old Americana, and how simple life was over 50 years ago.

This is considered my strongest piece.

These Abstraction photos were taken in the Fall of 2013.
